jc35Come and take a look at these operating procedures for vertical lathes!
The difference between a vertical lathe and a regular lathe is that its spindle is vertical, which is equivalent to standing the regular lathe upright. Due to its horizontal position, it is suitable for processing heavy parts with large diameters but short lengths.
Vertical lathes are capable of processing inner and outer cylinders, conical surfaces, end planes, grooves, chamfers, etc. The clamping and calibration of workpieces are relatively convenient.
Attention should be paid to the following during the operation process:
1. The rough surface of the workpiece should not be directly placed on the workbench, and should be supported by shims or spiral tops; It is strictly prohibited to use the workbench for other operations such as hammering to correct workpieces, welding workpieces, etc.
2. When aligning the workpiece, only jog the worktable to rotate at low speed for alignment, and high-speed alignment is not allowed.
3. When starting and stopping the workbench, the workbench opening and stopping handle can only be pulled by hand, and it is strictly prohibited to use foot pedals.
4. When the workbench is rotating, it is not allowed to lift the crossbeam or move the tool holder quickly.
5. When moving the crossbeam, the clamping device must be loosened first, and it should be clamped immediately after the movement is completed. After each descent of the crossbeam, it should rise slightly to eliminate the gap between the screw and nut.
6. It is not allowed to perform gravity cutting when the sliding pillows of the hanging tool holder and side tool holder are extended for a long time; When using a vertical tool holder for machining, especially for gravity cutting, the beams should be lowered as close to the working position as possible.
7. When performing intermittent cutting, it is necessary to appropriately reduce the feed rate and worktable speed.
8. When shifting gears, the control lever must be pushed to the designated position. If the gears are not properly meshed, they should be adjusted with micro movements after operation, and forced operation is not allowed.
