Key points for troubleshooting and maintenance of optical path faults in pipe cutting machines
Date: 2025-07-03Read: 8
During the operation of a laser tube cutting machine, the optical path system is the core component that ensures cutting accuracy and efficiency. Once a malfunction occurs, it can lead to a decrease in cutting quality, equipment shutdown, and other issues. Reasonably analyzing the causes of faults and mastering maintenance points are crucial for ensuring the stable operation of equipment.
1、 Common optical path fault phenomena and cause analysis
In optical path faults, a decrease in laser power is a common issue. The main reason is the aging of internal components of the laser generator, such as the expiration of the service life of the laser tube and the decrease in luminous efficiency; Or the surfaces of the reflecting mirrors and focusing mirrors in the optical path may be contaminated with dust and oil, resulting in significant loss of laser energy during transmission. In addition, optical path deviation can also cause cutting abnormalities, which may be due to the vibration of the equipment during operation, causing the installation positions of the reflecting mirror and focusing mirror to shift, resulting in the laser not being able to accurately focus on the surface of the pipe, leading to uneven cutting and non transparent cutting. There are also cases where the quality of the laser spot deteriorates, often due to a decrease in the optical performance of the focusing lens or an unstable output mode of the laser generator, which affects cutting accuracy and incision quality.
2、 Targeted fault handling methods
To address the decrease in laser power, it is necessary to first check the working status of the laser generator. If the laser tube ages, it should be replaced with a high-quality laser tube of the same specification in a timely manner. For reflectors and focusing lenses, specialized dust-free wiping cloths and optical lens cleaning agents should be used to gently wipe from the center to the edges, removing surface stains and restoring the transparency of the lenses. When dealing with optical path offset faults, it is necessary to use a laser collimator to calibrate the reflecting and focusing mirrors in the optical path one by one. By adjusting the pitch angle and horizontal position of the lenses, the laser beam can accurately pass through the center of each lens, ensuring the straightness and focusing accuracy of the optical path. When encountering quality problems with laser spots, it is necessary to check whether the installation of the focusing lens is correct, whether it is loose or damaged, and replace the focusing lens if necessary; At the same time, contact the equipment manufacturer to debug and optimize the output mode of the laser generator to improve the quality of the light spot.
3、 Key maintenance points for optical path system
Regular cleaning of the optical system is crucial in daily maintenance. It is recommended to clean the reflector and focusing lens at least once a week, and increase the cleaning frequency in dusty work environments. Proper protection should be taken during cleaning to avoid direct contact between hands and the surface of the lens. In addition, it is necessary to regularly check the installation and fixation of each lens in the optical path system to ensure that the lens will not loosen due to vibration during equipment operation. For laser generators, it is necessary to regularly replace the cooling water and filters according to the requirements of the equipment manual to ensure that the laser generator operates in a suitable temperature and clean environment. At the same time, establish maintenance records for the optical path system, detailing the time, content, and issues discovered during each maintenance, to facilitate tracking of equipment status and timely detection of potential faults and hazards.
The handling and maintenance of optical path faults in pipe cutting machines require meticulous operation and scientific management. By accurately identifying the cause of the malfunction, taking effective measures, and performing daily maintenance work, the stable operation of the optical system can be ensured, and the processing quality and production efficiency of the pipe cutting machine can be improved.
