There are several types of bed inserts, including regular bed inserts, keyway bed inserts, gantry bed inserts, and mobile bed inserts. The slide pillow of a regular lathe moves up and down along the guide rail of the column with a tool holder, and the worktable with workpieces can use the up and down slide seats for longitudinal, transverse, and rotary feed movements. The worktable of the keyway insertion machine is integrated with the bed body, and the tool rod extending upward from the bed body through the workpiece hole performs up and down reciprocating motion with the insertion edge, while performing intermittent feed motion. The workpiece installation is not restricted by the column like ordinary insertion machines, so it is mostly used for machining keyway in large parts (such as propellers) holes. Operating Procedures

1、 Seriously implement the relevant provisions of the General Operating Procedures for Metal Cutting Machine Tools.

2、 Seriously implement the following general regulations regarding bed insertion:

1. Select the correct length of the tool holder according to the machining position of the workpiece, adjust the stroke of the plug, and strictly prevent collision.

2. When loading and unloading heavy fixtures, they must be handled with care to prevent damage to the workbench.

3. The vertical, horizontal, and circumferential automatic feed of the workbench are not allowed to be used in combination, only single feed is allowed.

4. Quick knife alignment is not allowed at work.

3、 Seriously implement the following special regulations regarding bed insertion:

(1) Mechanical insertion bed:

1. Before the air freight test or after adjusting the stroke of the slider (plug), the flywheel should be manually rotated to check whether the reciprocating motion of the slider is good and whether the stroke of the slider meets the requirements. After confirming that it is normal, the machine tool can be started for test or formal operation.

2. Do not adjust the stroke and speed of the slider during operation.

3. After work, lift the plug up to the head and move the rotary worktable to the middle position of the guide rail.

(2) Hydraulic lathe:

1. Do not adjust the stroke of the slider during operation.

2. After work, place the slider plug at the bottom.

Safety regulations

The wrench and nut used must match, and the force should be appropriate to prevent slipping and injury.

2. When clamping the workpiece, the reference surface should be selected, the pressure plate and pad iron should be stable and reliable, and the clamping force should be appropriate to ensure that the workpiece does not loosen during cutting.

3. The worktable with linear motion (longitudinal, transverse) and circular motion is not allowed to perform all three at the same time.

4. It is prohibited to change the speed of the slider during operation. After adjusting the stroke and insertion position of the slider, it must be locked tightly.

5. During work, the head should not be inserted into the stroke of the slider to observe the machining situation. The stroke cannot exceed the specifications of the machine tool.

6. When changing gears, tools, or tightening screws, the vehicle must be stopped.

7. After the work is completed, each handle should be placed in an empty space, and the workbench, machine tool, and surrounding area of the machine tool should be cleaned and tidy.

8. When using a crane, the lifting equipment must be firm and reliable. It is not allowed to operate or pass under the lifted object, and close cooperation with the crane operator is required.

9. Before driving, check and lubricate all components, wear protective equipment, and tie the cuffs.

10. Do not blow iron filings with your mouth or clean them with your hands.
