Selection considerationsItem:

1. Mechanical installation and connection

Positioning stopper: installation flange diameter;

Shaft diameter: solid shaft diameter, hollow shaft diameter;

Outgoing method: Side outgoing or tail outgoing;

Installation space volume: height (determined by built-in bearings), external diameter (determined by code wheel);

2. Electrical output characteristics:

Resolution: The incremental formula depends on the number of pulses per cycle, while the absolute formula depends on the number of binary digits;

3. Output signal type:

Incremental: TTL long line differential square wave, 1Vpp standard sine and cosine;

Absolute formulas: SSI, BISS, Endat, etc;

Composite: TTL, 1Vpp, and absolute data output integration with some encoding;

Factors affecting accuracy:

1、 Instrument error

1. Optical errors: encoder indexing (master precision, width consistency, and edge finishing) errors, encoder eccentricity, light emission and reception errors;

2. Mechanical errors: errors caused by eccentricity and radial runout of shafts and bearings, as well as other mechanical imperfections;

3. Electrical errors: Orthogonal errors (comprehensive phase correction, cyclic tolerances, and digital to analog conversion errors), subdivision errors (interpolation electrical subdivision errors, harmonic electrical subdivision errors), anti-interference;

2、 Installation, reading (transmission, reception), and usage errors

1. Installation error: Axial misalignment and angular deviation caused by installation positioning points (as close as possible to the working surface) and coupling deviation. The higher the precision requirement, the smaller the axial and radial load requirements;

2. Reading error: power supply stability, signal transmission (noise, signal delay under long-distance fast frequency), signal reception response and processing accuracy, dynamic response error during high-speed rotation;

3. Usage errors: reverse clearance, hysteresis, and gear meshing errors caused by transmission components;

Factors affecting service life:

Mechanical factors:

1. The installation process design ensures easy installation and disassembly, with minimal changes in status;

2. The dual bearing structure of the encoder is more resistant to impact/vibration and has a longer lifespan than a single bearing;

3. Elastic couplings should be used, and the elastic margin should not be exhausted after installation;

4. After installation, please confirm the tightening of the screws on the housing and encoder;

5. Static/instantaneous shaft load should not exceed the maximum allowable value, especially in the axial direction;

6. Axial misalignment (concentricity), angular deviation (perpendicularity/end jump);

7. Temperature and humidity: immersion in temperature and humidity environment+maintenance (water, oil);

8. Environmental vibration: Installation and use of mechanical environment - vibration, impact;

9. Electrical environment: power supply, cable shielding, insulation, anti-interference;

10. Working speed: Do not exceed the maximum speed limit when using;
