Its principle is to use Pascal's law to create a mechanical device that utilizes liquid pressure transmission, and there are many types. Of course, the uses are also diverse according to needs. According to the type of liquid that transmits pressure, there are two main categories: hydraulic presses and hydraulic presses.

According to the direction of the applied force, hydraulic presses are divided into two types: vertical and horizontal. Most hydraulic presses are vertical and use liquid for extrusion, while structural presses are mostly horizontal. According to structural types, hydraulic presses can be divided into double column, four column, eight column, welded frame, and multi-layer steel belt wrapped frame types. For medium and small vertical hydraulic presses, C-frame type is also used. The C-type hydraulic press has three open sides for easy operation, but its rigidity is poor. The welding frame hydraulic press used for stamping has good rigidity, with front and rear openings but left and right closures. In the vertical four column free forging hydraulic press with upward movement, the oil cylinder is fixed in the upper beam, and the plunger is rigidly connected to the movable crossbeam. The movable crossbeam is guided by the column and moves up and down under the pressure of the working fluid. There is a workbench on the crossbeam that can move forward and backward. Install upper and lower anvils respectively under the activity crossbeam and on the workbench. The working force is borne by a frame composed of upper and lower beams and columns. Large and medium-sized free forging hydraulic presses driven by pumps and accumulators often use three working cylinders to obtain three-level working force. There are also balance cylinders and return cylinders that apply upward force outside the working cylinder.

The hydraulic transmission system of a four column hydraulic press consists of a power mechanism, a control mechanism, an actuator, an auxiliary mechanism, and a working medium. The power mechanism usually uses an oil pump as the power mechanism, usually an integral oil pump. To meet the requirements of the actuator's movement speed, one or multiple oil pumps should be selected. Gear pump for low pressure (oil pressure less than 2.5MP); Medium pressure (oil pressure less than 6.3MP) blade pump; Use a plunger pump for high pressure (oil pressure less than 32.0MP). The pressure processing and forming of various plastic materials, such as extrusion, bending, stretching of stainless steel plates and steel plates, and cold pressing of metal parts, can also be used for the pressing of powder products, grinding wheels, glued laminated wood, and thermosetting resin products.
