1、 The concept of neutral wire
The IEC standard refers to the conductor carrying multiphase unbalanced currents as the neutral wire (N-wire), also known as the "neutral wire". In the windings of transformers and generators, there is a point where the absolute value of the voltage between the external terminals is equal to the neutral point. The conductor led out from the neutral point is called the neutral wire.
During the operation of three-phase four wire or five wire power supply systems, fire accidents caused by neutral wires are mainly caused through three ways:
Long term overload of the neutral wire leads to aging of the neutral wire insulation layer, ultimately causing the insulation layer to burn and trigger a fire;
A neutral wire fault causes an open circuit in the neutral wire, resulting in a serious imbalance of three-phase electricity and burning electrical equipment, leading to a fire.
The aging of the neutral wire causes local overheating of the circuit, leading to the aging of the neutral wire insulation layer, and ultimately causing the insulation layer to burn and trigger a fire.
