Handling of laser power instability fault in pipeline intersecting line cutting machine
Date: 2025-10-15Read: 6
The stability of laser power is the core prerequisite for ensuring cutting accuracy and efficiency in pipeline intersection cutting operations. Once there is a fluctuation in laser power, it not only leads to excessive roughness of the incision and deviation of the groove angle, but also may cause material waste and equipment loss. Therefore, timely troubleshooting and handling of this fault is of great significance.
From the perspective of device operation logic, the causes of unstable laser power can be divided into three categories: optical system abnormalities, power supply system fluctuations, and cooling system failures. In terms of optical systems, contamination or loss of laser lenses is a common cause. The metal dust generated during the cutting process is prone to adhere to the surfaces of the focusing and reflecting mirrors, forming an energy attenuation layer; After long-term use, lens coating wear can also lead to a decrease in laser reflectivity, ultimately manifested as fluctuating power. At this time, it is necessary to follow the equipment operation specifications, remove the lens components, and gently wipe them with a special dust-free cloth dipped in optical cleaner. If there are scratches or coating peeling on the lens, it is necessary to replace it with a spare part of the same model in a timely manner.
The stability of the power supply system directly affects the output state of the laser generator. When the voltage fluctuation range of the workshop power grid exceeds the rated requirements of the equipment (usually ± 5%), or when the internal capacitors of the laser power module are aging or the wiring terminals are loose, it can cause unstable laser energy supply. When troubleshooting, you can first use a multimeter to detect the voltage of the power grid and confirm whether there is a sudden rise or fall in voltage; Then open the electrical cabinet of the equipment and check for oxidation marks at the wiring of the power module. If necessary, tighten the terminals again or replace the aging power module.
The failure of the cooling system can also cause power fluctuations. The laser generator generates a large amount of heat during operation. If the water level in the cooling water tank is too low, the coolant deteriorates, or the speed of the circulating water pump decreases, it can cause the temperature of the laser tube to be too high, triggering the overheating protection mechanism of the equipment and automatically adjusting the power. When handling, it is necessary to first check the liquid level of the cooling water tank and replenish it to the standard scale line; Next, check the conductivity and acidity of the coolant. If it exceeds the normal range, replace it; Finally, test the working status of the circulating water pump to ensure that the coolant flow rate and pressure meet the equipment requirements.
In addition, improper setting of cutting parameters may indirectly lead to the illusion of unstable power. For example, when the cutting speed does not match the laser power, the energy absorbed by the material fluctuates and is easily mistaken as a power failure. Therefore, before processing, it is necessary to check whether the cutting parameters match the material thickness and material, eliminate parameter setting issues, and then conduct hardware troubleshooting.
Through the step-by-step process of "parameter verification optical system inspection power supply system testing cooling system troubleshooting", it is possible to efficiently locate and solve laser power instability faults, ensuring the continuity and processing quality of pipeline intersection line cutting operations.
